Has there ever been a moment in life when you didn’t want more than you already had?

Really, has there ever been a moment in your life when you didn’t want more than you already had?  I suspect not.  We all appear to be of limitless desire.  But what happens when you cave into desire?  You desire ten more things!  This is why most rich people are in fact unhappy.  And this is just one of the ways in which we cause our own suffering.  Think about it.

Everything of value that had happened in your life you didn’t see it coming anyway! You never expect the greatest things in life that happen; good things simply unfold.  If you understand this- if you accept it and embrace it and let go of your desires- you will see that the universe is unfolding as it should.  And your issues can melt away as you are bigger than that; your true Self is beyond all that.

Desires lead to expectation and expectation leads to disappointment.  You can read a great review about a movie and then go to the see it at the cinema, only to leave feeling disappointed.  By contrast, how many times have you found yourself glued to the telly at home enjoying some rubbish movie no one has ever heard of?

But how to drop desires which lead to expectations and cause suffering?  You cannot simply flick a switch and turn off your thought process.  And there is no point fighting your thoughts – you won’t win!  The only way is meditation.  Close your eyes and watch your thoughts.  See how they come and go without you doing anything.  See how they do not even belong you to you.  Then notice that the thoughts are not continuous – look out for the gaps – that bit of silence.  Be of no mind.

The more you let go of your issues the deeper you go into meditation and the greater the healing. Past Life Healing Therapy gets to the root cause of your issues.  Life’s problems – illnesses, disease, suffering, anxiety, etc – are all just physical manifestations of deep emotional wound.  And it is no use just addressing symptoms.  It’s just like wanting to get rid of a tree but cutting the tree and pruning the leaves instead of uprooting it.  This is pointless.  New branches and leaves will grow back thicker and stronger.  Unless you uproot the tree you will make it stronger and destroy yourself instead of the tree.

Raising your awareness

Awareness or mindfulness (vipashyana or shamata in Sanskrit) can bring inner peace; it is putting meditation into practice in your day-to-day life. In fact, doing anything without expecting any result is meditation.  But to increase awareness, practice being mindful of all the things that you use to torture yourself with – become mindful by abandoning your expectations about the way you think things should be and what others may think of you.   Out of our mindfulness, begin to develop awareness about the way things really are. You may realise that the universe is unfolding as it should.

An ancient model of healing that uses awareness can be found in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali (which was echoed by Buddha in his first sermon Four Noble Truth’s).  In short, the model is an outline of the stages in the healing process, presented as four questions:

  1. What is the nature of the pain that all humans experience?
  2. What is the cause of that pain?
  3. What will be experienced when the pain is removed?
  4. How can the pain be removed?

These questions are designed to bring awareness to the true nature of the issue so that it can be dropped and the healing can occur.

Osho’s Past Life Healing Therapy tells us that human beings are generally programmed to achieve a higher state of consciousness.  Each one-to-one Past Life Healing session will help raise your consciousness and raise body-bound memories to awareness.  You can experience remembered events from your personal akashic record; memories from your individual path of evolution through eons of lives.  In this way, current life issues can be seen for what they are and, ultimately, dropped completely.

Sound / Chakra Meditation

Your life energy (also known as your ‘prana’ or ‘Qi’ -pronounced “chi”) is like electricity which runs along (meridian) lines throughout the human body. Chakra’s are like junction boxes where the lines come together. There are seven main chakras in the upper body, as follows:

The Root Chakra (muladhara) is red in colour and it is located at the perineum / pelvic floor. Specifically, in men it is located in the area between the anus and scrotum and, for women, it is the area between the anus and clitoris. Those who practice yoga will be familiar with the moola bandha- contracting the moola bandha triggers this root chakra. Our basic survival instincts are located in this energy centre. It is also linked to our ability to trust in others.

The Sacral Chakra (svadhistana) is orange in colour and it is located about 2 inches below the navel (also known as the dantian). This second energy centre is linked to our sexuality and family connections. It is also likened to our inner child being associated with creativity, innocence, vulnerability and spontaneity.

The Solar Plexus Chakra (manipura) is yellow in colour and it located in the solar plexus, that is about 2 inches below your sternum in your chest. This chakra is linked to our ego / our self-concept as an individual, fame, authority and free-will.

The Heart Chakra (anahata) is green in colour and it is located just left of the centre of your chest. It is associated with love, hatred, faith, compassion, anger, duty and devotion.

The Throat Chakra (vishuddha) is blue in colour and it is located at the base of your throat. It is linked to our creativity, communication/ expression, our knowledge and abundance.

The Third Eye Chakra (ajna) is indigo in colour and it is located at the centre of your forehead in-between the eyebrows. It linked to intuition, insight/ inner vision, wisdom and relaxation.

The Crown Chakra (sahaswara) is violet in colour and it is located at the very top of your head. It is linked to our union with the Divine and cosmic consciousness and unbounded awareness.

Each of these seven chakra’s resonates with specific sounds that you can make/ chant:

The Root Chakra – “LAM”

The Sacral Chakra – “VAM”

The Solar Plexus Chakra – “RAM”

The Heart Chakra – “YAM”

The Throat Chakra – “HAM”

The Third Eye Chakra – “SHAM”

The Crown Chakra – “OM”

To meditate on the chakra’s and awaken each energy centre first sit down in a comfortable position with your back straight and watch your breath. Once you have settled begin chanting the first mantra “LAM” visualising its location in your body and the colour red. Do this for about 5 minutes and then watch your breath and settle back down.

Then do the same for the second chakra – visualise its location in your body (i.e. the dantian; 2 inches below the navel) and its colour (orange) and chant the mantra “VAM” for 5 minutes or so.

Repeat this routine for each chakra (remembering to leave a gap between each stage as you simply watch your breath and settle back down):

chakras 2

Finally, after chanting all seven mantras you then observe the silence for 20 minutes; watching your breath.

This meditation should only be done in the mornings as it gives you an abundance of energy . Ideally it should be done first thing and before any work out. If you do this in the evening you will not be able to sleep at night!

Testimonial by Emily

“Thank you Damian for a very interesting past life regression session.

I have been facilitated with regression for a long time now and couldn’t believe my luck when Damian came home from India after studying this fascinating therapy.

Aside from my fascination with the therapy itself, other reasons I wanted to be regressed for was to delve deeper into some anxieties and anger that I held in parts of my life that didn’t really make sense.

Damian managed to regress me first of all back to being in a womb and progressed by jumping forward in the life every 10 years. I felt that we discovered some things from my previous life that hugely explained my anxieties and anger in this life. It was a huge eye opener!!

I do feel like going back to see Damian a few times would help my visualisation skills to increase. In my regression I could see patchy images although more feelings. Damian did say the more you have the therapy the more clearly you can see the situations! I am excited for my next session!!”

We are such stuff as dreams are made on …

Yes I have jumped on the William Shakespeare bandwagon! It has been 400 years since Shakespeare passed. He wrote the following beautiful words in The Tempest in about 1610:

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded with a sleep.”

Consciousness and awareness are concepts that greatly interest me. Osho tells us that we do not only dream at night; even while awake we are constantly dreaming. You may be reading these words now but a dream continuously goes on within you. This is why, sometimes, it goes on one ear and out of the other (so to speak). When there are dreams in the daytime you will be doing something but you will be absent. Inside you are elsewhere; occupied.

We are rarely present. We live in the past. Even thinking about being in the present is living in the past: by the time you have analysed what is in front of you the moment has already passed; you have missed it. Feel; don’t think. To feel (as opposed to think) is to be present. Laughter is a great example. Laughter brings up an inner energy and when you really laugh, for those few moments you are in a deep meditative state. There is no future and there is no past; you are present. Thinking stops. You cannot laugh and think together.

Past Life Healing Therapy is a method to come to a non-dreaming state of mind. As Osho once said:

“Mind can be either the source of bondage or the source of freedom. Mind becomes the gate for this world, the entry; it can also become the exit. Mind leads you to hell, mind can also lead you to heaven. So it all depends on how mind is used. Right use of mind becomes meditation, wrong use of the mind becomes madness.”

Visual (object or image) Meditation Technique.

It is no accident that Osho’s Past Life Healing Therapy technique (which I am qualified to deploy) uses meditation as the means to accessing past lives. Meditation and Past Life Healing Therapy are inextricably linked. Both are the only true means of self-discovery and knowing yourself is true wisdom.

With this Visual Meditation Technique you need to choose an image or object to meditate on. The type of image or object used does not matter. The mind simply requires a fixed point of reference for the technique to work. As you focus on the image or object, notice its subtleties: the way the light hits it, its colours, the way it contrasts with the background, how the image makes you feel, whether or not its outline is roughly made or smooth with sharp edges, etc. As you observe the subtleties do not analyse or compare or try to label what you see. Try to meditate for at least 20 minutes.

If you keep focusing and settle on the image then gradually your thoughts will become quieter and quieter; gradually the image will disappear from the mind and transform into bliss. Using this technique you can let go of your thoughts of the past or future and settle into the present.

The other day, whilst walking the dogs, I happened to see a large bird of pray land in a nearby tree. The dogs were off the lead but in an enclosed part of the nature reserve. I sat down, straightened my back and continued watching the bird. I continued meditating on the image of this beautiful bird sat perfectly still in the nearby tree. Watching the bird and focusing on it among the trees, my vision started to blur a little. I then became aware that all the branches from all the surrounding trees seemed to tessellate and form a mosaic pattern all around me. I felt a profound feeling of interconnectedness as I meditated. It was a powerful spontaneous thing.

Know yourself

You did not come here to achieve perfection, you came here to know yourself and life is perfect imperfection anyway. But how do you get to know yourself? As Osho once said: “Your whole idea about yourself is borrowed-borrowed from those who have no idea of who they are themselves.”

Knowing yourself is true wisdom. Past Life Healing Therapy can expand consciousness and awareness and clarity to the level where deep meditation and self-discovery are possible. Relive past lives and discover your true centre; your true self is waiting…

My healing journey so far

“One who has known himself will know the other also” (Osho).

I found yoga at a time of total despair in my life. My wife had died. She was my everything. I became totally hopeless. Everything was meaningless. I did a lot of mourning and soul searching. Ultimately, I turned inwards and came face to face with reality.

At this time in my life, a good friend of mine (and my then kung fu instructor) happened to end his career in the NHS as a pharmacist, to pursue another great passion of his – to set up a yoga retreat in Spain. Having been through so much, I was keen to get away and I liked the thought of doing some self-healing / yoga.  I decided to try my hand at vinyāsa flow yoga by attending his retreat for two weeks. I have practiced yoga nearly every day since then. That was over 4 years ago now.

Last year, and in the pursuit of yoga, I decided to go to Mysore (South India); the home of Ashtanga yoga.   I had managed to negotiate 6 month sabbatical/ period of leave from my high-flying career as a lawyer. I had heard that the founding father of modern yoga (T. Krishnamacharya) was born in Mysore and some of the most renowned yoga instructors in the world still teach there today.

Some of Krishnamacharya’s most dedicated students included K. Pattabhi Jois and B. N. S. Iyengar. I initially trained with the nephew of Pattabhi Jois (Master G) and I then had one-to-one daily tuition with Suresh Bhat for four months (a B. N. S. Iyengar student; pictured below). In short, I came to India for the yoga.

Being as it started at ridiculous o’clock (!) my morning routine of chanting, āsana, pranayama and meditation would leave me much of the day free. I thought of taking cooking classes or a Thai massage course or something and vowed to do my research. Before I could begin, my friend took me to a local meditation class. On the way he suggested that it would be interesting as the guy that run it had some controversial views.

The mediation class was led by B. Nagakumar (my guru, “Kumar”; pictured below) who runs the Mumuksha Centre for Transformation in Mysore and was accepted into the order of Osho sannyasins. I was drawn to him. This is the first time I was introduced to Osho’s teachings and techniques.   Everything he said was profound. He appeared to express the essence of the wisdom from the ancient sages of India. In so doing, he mentioned that he was to soon start another course in past life healing therapy and that there was one space left. I resolved to sign up to the course as soon as the meditation class was over.

When I got back to my room, I emailed Kumar to confirm that I wanted to attend his course. I then asked myself “do I even believe in past lives?!” I resolved, in any event, to go with an open mind. My instincts told me that I was going in the right direction and I had heard the phase more than once that when in India: “feel; don’t think”.

No words of ample meaning can express the intensity of the past life therapy healing training. It made me question everything I thought I knew. It gave me a new outlook on life. The training helped me bring awareness to the assumptions and beliefs that that caused much of the issues in my life.

I saw how I was responsible for my own suffering and understood that we are all responsible for our own suffering; making assumptions about what other people think / living in the opinion of others and self-imposing demands (to name but a few). I saw the need to let go of my present-life indoctrination. I also experienced how this could be done on a subconscious level by revisiting the life in which the issue first occurred with the past life healing therapy.

I repeated Kumar’s past life healing therapy training course, attended all his meditation classes and completed a further course on Transformational Enquiry Healing. All in all, I spent the best part of 5 months with Kumar.

I ended my career as a lawyer recently having returned to the UK and I am now a fulltime past life healing therapist. I am committed to healing others (in place of financially harming others at a lawyers’ hourly rate!). I continue my daily self-practice of chanting, āsana, pranayama and meditation.

I conduct past life healing sessions for those who wish to benefit from this therapy. Each session starts with an issue that the person undergoing the session wishes to address, and then goes on to connect with the life in which the issue originated. Each session typically lasts between two and three hours.

Past life healing therapy

The soul or spirit, as it is also known, is deathless and indestructible; it undertakes countless journeys via countless lives through time and space until it unifies with the Supreme in eternal bliss. Your body is a vessel for the soul through which it can experience and learn and ultimately unify with the Supreme. The life you live could play a significant part in the evolution of your soul.

Your sole brings memories and emotions from past lives carrying them forward into your present life. These memories and emotions are frequently negative and can present themselves as present day blockages, phobias, anxieties, illnesses, injuries, etc.

Past life healing therapy is a technique that enables you to revisit the lives in which you experienced the events that left behind negative memories and emotions and manifest as problems in your present life. So instead of looking at the time in your life when an issue presents itself (be it adolescence, childhood, etc.) you go back to the life in which the problem originated. In so doing, you address the root cause of the issue and the negative emotions. Having understood this, you can let go of the emotions that have been carried over from past lives and heal yourself.

Damian conducts past life healing sessions for those who wish to benefit from this therapy. Each session starts with an issue that the person undergoing the session wishes to address, and then goes on to connect with the life in which the issue originated. Each session typically lasts about two to three hours.
